Senior Fund Accountant

Our Client, a large private equity firm, is looking for a Senior Fund Accountant who will have a broad range of responsibilities across both fund administration and the US management company. This is a hands-on position with the opportunity to help build out a new corporate accounting platform and institutionalize best practices within fund administration as the firm prepares for further fundraising. The Staff Accountant will work closely with the newly-appointed CFO and various third-party service providers to ensure high quality financial reporting. This position provides an opportunity with upward trajectory in the PE industry for a driven, high-quality, and detail-oriented candidate from an accounting background.  

Responsibilities

  • Documenting and updating internal processes and controls
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately
  • Manage capital calls; distributions; payments and investment fundings
  • Review of management fee and carry schedules and calculations
  • Draft policies and summary memoranda documenting fundings, realizations, restructurings and other important events as needed
  • Help design and implement new accounting platform (Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Responsibility for entire accounting function of the manager partnership, including quarter and year end closes

Minimum requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree in business preferred;
  • CPA is preferable
  • Financial services sector experience is preferable;
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics or similar accounting software is preferable;
  • A high level of professionalism, with strong initiative;
